The 9th “BlackSeaRama Pro-Am” is open to all PGA Members and trainees as recognised by their respective National PGA. A limited number of exemptions may be considered provided that the Professional is a member in good standing of an organisation that is considered a Professional Member of the International Golf Federation. Any doubts as to eligibility will be decided by the PGAs of Europe Board of Directors whose decision will be final.

All Professionals are requested to register at the Championship Office located in the BlackSeaRama clubhouse to the right hand side of the reception desk. This must be done before 12.00hrs on Tuesday 11th July either in person at the Championship Office, by e-mail to, or by telephone using the Tournament Administration Telephone number: +44(0)7809 338919.

The event shall be played under The R&A Rules of Golf, the Tournament Regulations of the PGAs of Europe, the 2017 PGAs of Europe Conditions of Competition and the local rules for the Thracian Cliffs, BlackSeaRama and Lighthouse Golf Courses, as determined by the PGAs of Europe Tournament Director.

Up to 25 teams (consisting of 1 Professional and 3 Amateurs) will compete over 54 holes stableford with the best two scores from the team of four to count on each hole.

The professionals will play a 54-hole individual strokeplay event.

The handicap limit is 28 for men and 36 ladies with a ¾ sloped handicap allowance in the Pro-Am.

Amateurs are required to provide their exact handicap at the time of entry and will be asked to confirm their handicap at the registration desk of the event. Any amendments MUST be notified by 12.00hrs on Tuesday 11th July.

NOTE: All prizewinners will be required to provide current proof of handicap before their team is presented with their prizes.

The EGA slope system will apply to the tournament and each amateur will play from the applicable handicap.

NOTE: It is the amateur’s responsibility to ensure that the registration desk is made aware of their exact handicap.

Any disputes regarding the interpretation of these Conditions of Competition will be settled by the PGAs of Europe and in consultation with BlackSeaRama and will be binding.

Prizes will be awarded to the top-3 overall Pro-Am teams. In the case of a tie on completion of the 3 rounds in the Team competition then a Card play-off will take place based on the FINAL round scores.

In the case of a tie in the Professional Individual Tournament then a hole by hole play off will take place until a winner is determined.

The starting times for Round 1 and 2 of the Pro-Am tournament will be published on the noticeboards in the BlackSeaRama clubhouse (reception and Tournament Office) by 14.00hrs on Tuesday 11th July. Rounds 1 and 2 will be a one-tee start (1st).

The Round 3 starting times will be published on the noticeboards in the BlackSeaRama clubhouse following completion of Round 2. The order of play will be based on strict team score order. Round 3 will be a two-tee start (1st/10th).

All competitors are required to arrive at their starting tee 10 minutes prior to their start time. This is to allow the starter to provide pin positions, local rules and additional information to each player. This also ensures that all team members are present and able to start on time.

When a team comprises of more than a Professional and one amateur the whole team will incur a penalty of two strokes, if at the designated starting time they cannot fulfill the scoring requirements of the event:

  1. Where the Professional is marking an individual score and the Professional is late then no penalty is applied to the team score providing that the team could fulfill the Pro-Am scoring requirements assuming that the professional was present. A penalty of two strokes shall be applied to the Professional’s individual score.
  2. The team shall only commence play if the professional and the minimum number of amateur partners required to fulfill the scoring requirements are present.
  3. If a team cannot fulfill the scoring requirements of the event at the time of the last starting time the team shall be disqualified. Exception to this clause will be in the instance of a Professional not being ready to commence play by this time and if in these circumstances the team can fulfill the scoring requirements of the event then they will be permitted to play without the Professional. If a team commences play under these circumstances then any player may join the team on the course upon his arrival.

NOTE: When both Professional and the team are subject to a two-stroke penalty for lateness on the tee, the team total for the first hole will be increased by two shots prior to any penalty being added to the Professional’s individual score for that hole.

Buggies will be provided to ALL competitors for the round at Thracian Cliffs and ALL competitors (Amateurs and Professionals) can ride in them for this round.

Professionals will NOT be allowed to ride in buggies at the rounds at BlackSeaRama and Lighthouse.

Buggies are available to Amateurs for the rounds at Lighthouse and at BlackSeaRama, however these are AT THE PLAYER’S COST and are on a first come first served basis.

All scorecards must be returned to the recording area situated within the Tournament Office immediately following play.

There will be a PGAs of Europe Rules Official available to deal with any rulings.

If, however, there is no Rules Official present the player may invoke Rule 3-3 (two ball rule). The player must nominate the ball with which he wants to score, should the rules permit, and report the facts to a PGAs of Europe Official immediately at the conclusion of play. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

As per Section B3 of the PGAs of Europe Conditions of Competition, all competitors will be permitted to use distance-measuring devices provided they measure distance only. If a player has any doubt as to whether a device is conforming they should seek the advice of a PGAs of Europe official.

For everyone’s enjoyment we ask for each team to “keep up with the team in front and not in front of the team behind”. If a player is not going to score on a hole please “pick up”. A Pace of Play will be enforced on the courses and there will be signs on the tees.

It will be the professional’s responsibility to ensure that the team’s pace of play adheres to the guidelines of the Tournament Director.

In the event of bad weather and an overall result not being possible, the overall result will be decided over completed rounds.

All players should make themselves aware of the Suspension of Play Policy, which can be found on the PGAs of Europe Hard Card – Section B5. In all instances when there is a threat of lightning the player should put their own safety first and seek shelter as soon as possible.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances any decision shall be made by the PGAs of Europe and, in consultation with BlackSeaRama, be binding.

Normal Golf clothing is to be worn at Thracian Cliffs, BlackSeaRama Golf Club and Lighthouse Golf Club during the tournament or the equivalent after golf.

Dress code will be indicated for each advertised function.
